101.3 AssociateFaculty Parity

101.3.1              Definition of Parity

The total compensation of full-time faculty includessalaries (paid on the full-time faculty salary schedule) and healthbenefits.  Parity in compensationfor associate faculty members shall be defined as follows:

88% of Full-Time Salary Schedule Columns A-F, Steps1-24 PLUS 88% of the average composite health benefit premium of full-timefaculty.

The form in which this compensation will take willbe the subject of negotiations.

 

101.3.2 Distribution ofParity Funds

Those funds identified asAssociate Parity Funds in the 2004-2005 District Final Budget document shall beused to increase the current Associate Salary Schedule A from 66% of Column Bof the full-time faculty salary schedule to 70% of Column B of the full-timefaculty salary schedule and shall be used to fund the same increase inAssociate Salary Schedules C and D and shall be used to fund the corresponding increase in mandatorybenefits, effective 7/1/04.

The retroactive payment tomembers who provided service between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005 and werecompensated on Associate Salary Schedules A, C, or D shall be distributed nolater than December 31, 2005.  Any2004-2005 Associate Parity Funds unused after this distribution is made shallbe carried forward to 2005-2006 to maintain these salary schedule adjustments.

 

Those funds identified asAssociate Parity Funds in the 2005-2006 District Final Budget document and allfuture Associate Parity Funds in the same dollar amount plus any carry forwardfrom the previous year shall be used to maintain these salary scheduleadjustments.  Any unused funds atthe end of each year shall be carried forward to the next year.

 

 At the end of each fiscal year, the District will provide ACEwith a reconciliation of any unused parity funds to be carried forward.  This carry forward balance should alsobe separately identified in the District’s Budget documents.

 

If the funds identified asAssociate Parity Funds received in the future are increased by the State to anamount greater than the funds received in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006, ACE reservesthe right to negotiate the use of those funds in achieving the parity goal.

 

These provisions of Article101.3.2 shall be an automatic re-opener each year.
